Moreton Cup winner Deploy remains an outright $3.60 favourite in 2017 WJ Healy Stakes betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Dothraki and Flippant; currently sharing the second line at generous $6.50 quotes.

Will Deploy justify favouritism and win the 2017 WJ Healy Stakes, or will one of his talented rivals post an upset in the featured sprint?

Dothraki ($6.50)

Consistent performer Dothraki has been charged with overcoming a heavy topweight, but the talented gelding is the class horse of this field and should prove extremely tough to beat under the conditions of the WJ Healy Stakes. Returning from a freshen-up to finish third in the Listed Luskin Star Stakes (1100m) on May 13th, the Mossman gelding was last seen finishing a close second in the Moreton Cup, with topweight. The horse has plenty of gate speed and shouldn’t find too much issue finding the pace from barrier 13, and will be tough to beat in the dying stages of the Healy Stakes.

Too Good To Refuse ($9)

Leading local Too Good To Refuse flew home to finishing an agonizingly-close second in the Listed Hinkler Quality (1200m) a fortnight ago and should be right in the finish of this race once more on Saturday. The Rothesay entire generally takes a position at the tail of the field and settles into a good tempo, before relying on his big turn of foot in the final straight and he should be able to easily drop to the rear of this group, which boasts plenty of early speed. With only 55kgs in tow and regular hoop Robbie Fradd in the saddle, Too Good To Refuse is not without a chance of an upset win here.

Irish Constabulary ($17)

Irish Constabulary has so-far received the greatest market share of bets to win the WJ Healy Stakes and is not without a chance of finishing in the first three. Posting a commendable career total of seven wins and as many minors through twenty-two starts, the Flying Spur gelding returned this time for second in the Listed Ascot Handicap (1200m) on April 22nd and while unable to figure in the late stages of his most recent starts, is drawn to get a good run close to the pace and has the notable advantage of Jeff Lloyd in the saddle.
