June 22nd, 2016

Thirteen sprinters have been confirmed in the final field for Saturday’s 2016 Group 3 WJ Healy Stakes (1200m); highlighted by the inclusion of some of the Brisbane Winter Carnival’s most exciting short coursers.

That’s A Good Idea carries winning form into the 2016 WJ Healy Stakes and should prove tough to beat from barrier 2, with leading hoop Hugh Bowman in the saddle.

Posting nine wins and a further twelve minors through thirty-five career starts so far, That’s A Good Idea trialled well in the lead-up to his competitive return this time but clearly required a run when eighth in the Listed Bel Esprit Stakes (1100m) first-up on April 23rd.

Responding well with a strong performance for third in the Listed Ortensia Stakes (1100m) on May 14th, the Flying Spur gelding charged home to win the Wilson Asset Management Handicap (1100m) on May 28th.

Classy local Tina Melina is sure to carry improvement into the WJ Healy Stakes and should lay a great account for herself from the ideal barrier 5.

Running third in the Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Classic (1300m) on January 9th, Tina Melina capped an impressive summer campaign with success in the Listed Nudgee Handicap (1200m) on January 23rd.

Running ninth in the Listed Silk Stocking (1200m) upon resuming this time, the daughter of Jet Spur ran on for fourth in the Listed Bright Shadow Quality (1200m) last time out and has been confirmed to be partnered by Jim Byrne on Saturday.

Godolphin have claimed a number of excellent results in black type races this season and are offered a good opportunity to extend their record through the WJ Healy Stakes with Mogador, who will leave from the rails draw.

Claiming two wins and a further three minors through his ten career starts so far, Mogador capped a strong 2015 with a positive performance for fifth in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).

Resuming this time for seventh in the Group 3 Zeditave Stakes (1200m) on February 27th, Mogador placed fifth in a talent-rich Rosehill minor over 1100m on April 23rd before charging home for fourth in the Isuzu Ute Scone BM77 (1100m) on May 14th.

Placing a close second in the Listed Queensland Day Stakes (1200m) on May 20th, the Lonhro colt will be partnered by Robbie Fradd in the WJ Healy Stakes.

Odyssey Moon carries winning form into the 2016 WJ Healy Stakes, but will undoubtedly require luck in transit after drawing the outside barrier.
